Municipality of Livadia won three prizes in the OTA Awards 2019 – 2023, which took place on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Zappeion Megaron, in Athens.
Specifically, the prizes received were the following:
- 1st Prize in the category “Social Solidarity and Cohesion – Integration of Refugees and Migrants into the Local Society” for the successful implementation of the European Programme “IncluCities” (2020 – 2023)
- 2nd Prize in the “Employment” category for the valuable contribution of the Employment Office of the Municipality of Livadia to strengthening the employability of citizens and
- Prize in the “Digital Innovation” category for the implementation of the Project “Smart information boards, municipal info kiosks, smart benches” and its substantial contribution to the modernization and provision of quality services to citizens.
The Local Administration Awards OTA Awards 2019 – 2023 are the only awards which are addressed exclusively to the primary and secondary Local Authority Organizations of the country, highlighting and rewarding actions and projects for innovation, sustainability, the quality of life of cities as well as services provided to the citizen for the period 2019 – 2023. At the same time, they reward the people of the local government who – as noted by the organizers of the institution in question – “with hard work manage to improve the daily life of their citizens while simultaneously improving their environmental performance, leaving their own clear imprint on society”.
The Mayor of Livadia, Ioannis D. Tagalegas, points out that this distinction is the result of a collective effort to define, plan and implement projects that contribute to the creation of a fair, intelligent and balanced Municipality. Also, he especially thanks his colleagues, elected and officials, for their excellent cooperation and their valuable assistance in improving the living standards of the citizens, highlighting good practices that are an example for other Municipalities of the country to follow.
