The 6th International Partner Meeting was held in Grenoble, France, from 4 – 6 June 2024, in the context of the implementation of the European Programme “Multi-STakeholder Labs for migrants and stakeholders (MUST-a-Lab)”, lasting three (3) years (2022-2024), with funding from the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund of the European Commission.
The main objective of the implementation of “MUST-a-Lab” in Livadia is to enhance the dialogue between migrants and stakeholders that implement integration processes. In particular, representatives of stakeholders and migrants participated in special Workshops, during which through an innovative participatory method they exchanged opinions and proposed improved local integration strategies.
Livadia Project Team participated in the 6th International Partner Meeting in Grenoble, France, together with representatives of the other consortium partners from Italy, Spain, Belgium, Austria and France having Mechelen, Belgium, as lead partner. In addition, on June 5, 2024, the International Policy Workshop was held, where the contribution of elected officials, administrators and members of the Programme’s International Stakeholders Reference Group was considered necessary. The Municipality of Livadia was supported by Ms. Dionysia Lampiri, Coordinator of the “Athens Coordination Center for Migrant and Refugee Issues” and Coordinator of the Greek Cities Network for Integration and Mr. Andreas Stamatakis, Head of the Autonomous Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Municipality of Livadia.
During the three-day meeting, among others, the results of the qualitative and quantitative research – conducted by the KdG University in Antwerp, Belgium and the University of Modena, Italy – were presented in the context of the evaluation of the Policy Labs. Moreover, the partners analyzed the programme implementation in each of the six European Municipalities of the consortium, the objectives, challenges and proposals that emerged to improve the local integration strategies.
The Mayor of Livadia, Mr. Dimitris K. Karamanis, emphasizes that the implementation of the European Programme “MUST-a-Lab” in our city will significantly contribute to the use of a participatory process that promotes human values such as dialogue and respect and may bring positive results in other areas as well. The Municipality of Livadia will continue, through actions and initiatives, to focus on the citizens, their active participation and their provision of best services for the positive development of our local society.
